New Premium Lawn in Walton on the Hill

This long back garden in Walton on the Hill had a tired old lawn that didn't do justice to the smart fencing along both sides. The owners wanted a fresh, even lawn to match.

What we did

  • Removed the old lawn completely, roots and all

  • Graded the soil so the whole length of the garden sits level and drains properly

  • Laid premium lawn turf with tight joints from the patio to the back fence

  • Watered it in straight away to help it root

Why the grading matters

On a long, narrow garden like this, any dips or humps show up straight away, especially once the lawn is striped. Taking the time to grade the soil before laying is what gives you a lawn that looks as good in a year as it does on day one. Read more about it in our lawn levelling guide.

The result

A deep green, even lawn that sets off the fencing perfectly. Premium turf is finer and denser than standard turf, so it stripes beautifully and stays thick with regular mowing.
