From Concrete to Lawn: New Turf and a Sprinkler System in Coulsdon

This Coulsdon garden had a large area of old concrete where the owners wanted lawn. Turning hard standing back into healthy grass takes more than just laying turf on top, so here's how we did it.

What we did

  • Broke out and removed the old concrete

  • Graded the soil to give a level base with good drainage

  • Laid a new lawn across the whole garden

  • Installed a 6-head sprinkler system for even, hands-free watering

Why we added sprinklers

New turf needs plenty of water for the first few weeks while it roots, and established lawns stay greener through dry spells with regular watering. A 6-head sprinkler system covers the whole lawn evenly, so there are no dry corners and no dragging hoses around. It's especially useful in summer, when a new lawn can need watering every day.

The result

Where there was concrete, there's now a lush, level lawn that's easy to look after. The sprinklers make aftercare simple, which gives the new turf the best possible start.
